Q: Who can participate in the scheme?
A: Anyone looking to raise funds such as schools, churches, community groups, golf clubs, football clubs, kids clubs etc.
Q: Do we get paid?
A: YES! We pay for every kg recycled be it from a collection, indoor or outdoor bin.
Q: Do we have to commit to more than one collection when we register with Rag Bag?
A: No, you can organise one collection at a time as often as you would like.
Q: Does it cost me anything to set up a collection?
A: The Rag Bag scheme is completely FREE to anyone wishing to register or take part. (click here to register online)
Q: Does it cost me anything to order an indoor or outdoor textile bank?
A: We are the only company in the UK who offers FREE indoor or outdoor textile recycling facilities.
Q: Can we have regular collections from a Textile Bank?
A: Yes, we strongly encourage regular collections placed in your diary. By siting a textile bank in a prominent position it will encourage parents and the local community to recycle their textiles.
Q: Is Rag Bag a national organisation?
A: Yes! We can organise a collection, indoor or outdoor bank UK wide
Q: What textiles/ clothes can be recycled?
A: We accept the following items; all adults and children’s clothing paired shoes, belts, handbags wallets etc, bedding to include sheets, pillow cases and duvet covers, curtains, towels and soft toys.
Q: What happens to the clothes?
A: The clothing is graded at the UK’s largest textile recycling facility Nathans Wastesavers Ltd. Over 200 trained people are employed to sort and grade the materials prior to export around the world.
